I’m enjoying the preparations for the next Secret Severn Art Trail. I’ll be based down at the Green Wood Centre in Coalbrookdale with talented artists Jacob Chandler, Maggie Cameron, BothinStitches, Tim Croton and Fiona Jackson. We get a chance to display our artwork inside the stunning Cruck Barn, in it’s glorious Coalbrookdale woodland setting. You can view our exhibition from 8th – 10th September. There will also be the chance to take part in workshops on site during the full event – Family Friendly Printmaking, Taster Rag Rug Making, Drawing Skills and Origami – workshop details can be viewed at the event website http://www.secretsevern.co.uk
The Secret Severn is a group representing artists in and around the Ironbridge Gorge. I’m looking forward to taking part in the next event which takes place from the 5th – 7th May. The weekend will take the form of an ‘Art Trail’ which spans from The Green Wood Centre, Coalbrookdale to the Maws Craft Centre in Jackfield. Along the route, shops and businesses will be supporting us by displaying artwork and helping to spread the word about the creativity in this part of Shropshire. There will be a chance to take part in workshops and to visit artists in their studios, plus ample opportunities for stopping off at cafes and pubs for refreshments as you admire the work on display.
I will be exhibiting at Kerryvale Vineyard, Churchstoke from 14th October – 16th November http://www.kerryvalevineyard.co.uk
Visit the cafe serving delicious food complimented by a superb wine selection – why don’t you treat yourself while taking a look at the gallery! I’m sharing the exhibition with the talented Hazel McNab so this promises to be a varied show with something for everyone.
This month, until the end of August you’ll be able to see my latest artwork at EightySix’d cafe, Waterloo Road Ironbridge.
On Saturday 16th July I’ll be taking part in the Severn Gorge Countryside Trust Open day, there will be craft demos and woodland walks, even the opportunity to buy some wool from the Coalbrookdale sheep! Have a go at printing a greetings card with me on the day and watch me demonstrate how a linoprint is made.
I’m looking forward to holding an exhibition at Eightysix’d cafe in Ironbridge in July & August. I have some new images to display including a version of the piece that I have recently sold at the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists Prize Exhibition. The work on show will be really contrasting in feel, bringing in both the decorative style I use for commercial projects combined with the harder edged architecturally influenced works.
